Spring · A slower warming
The coast warms later in spring, as the hills and the city move into a new season.

A SENSE OF PLACE · QINGDAO, CHINA
To discover RONGDI, begin with Qingdao.
01 / PENINSULA & SEA
Qingdao lies on the southern Shandong Peninsula in China, with the Yellow Sea to its east and south. Coastal hills, projecting headlands and connected bays shape its maritime setting.
“Between hills and sea” describes a real setting. It is the starting point for understanding where RONGDI comes from.

02 / LAOSHAN & THE COAST
Laoshan’s granite mountains extend towards the coast. Rock, sea-shaped landforms, headlands and bays give this meeting of mountain and water a recognisable character.
This landscape informs our visual language: quiet stone, light on water and changing contours. Back in the distillery, the eye finds another set of textures in copper, wood and glass.
03 / FOUR SEASONS
Qingdao has a temperate monsoon climate with a maritime influence along the coast. Its distinct seasons shape the rhythm of life around the distillery.
The coast warms later in spring, as the hills and the city move into a new season.
Summer brings humidity and rain, with the sea moderating coastal temperatures.
Rainfall eases in autumn. Clearer days bring the hills, city and sea into sharper view.
Winter is cold and windy, completing the distinct seasonal rhythm of this coastal city.

04 / OUR QINGDAO
Qingdao is RONGDI’s point of departure. The landscape offers a way of seeing; the distillery brings the story into the rooms, objects and everyday work behind the whisky.
Continue through copper equipment, rows of oak casks and people at work. Then explore each expression through the cask descriptions and flavour notes on its label.
